At very short notice on 5th April Sarah, Geoff, Marilyn and I joined Rob, three other parish councillors and 5 spaniels to plant 90 trees along the River Marden. This is part of the project to increase biodiversity in this stretch of the river by clearing the banks and encouraging more wildlife to move to the village. It took us a couple of hours and ended with very nice tea and cake at Sprays Farm.

(PS—I couldn’t find a collective noun for spaniels so I think I shall use an “excitement of spaniels” in future! )
