I would like the thank the villagers of Calstone and Blackland, both old and current, for their help and encouragement in producing this website. Most of the content came from information collected during the production of two editions of the village book “Calstone Wellington – Our village past, present and future”. They lent me many of their precious photos and other memorabilia, in particular Maundrell family, Ron Stempfer, Shook Cleverly, Margaret Embling, the Mills family, the Stempfer family and many others.
Special thanks must also be given to Ann River Davis who not only lent me many photos, recorded and transcribed the “village voices” section and gave me lots of help, advice and support with the original project.
Whilst permission was given to publish this material in printed form the book did state that at some point a website would be produced. If anyone would like anything removed from the site please contact me at doug@calstone.org and I will remove it as soon as possible.
