Following the elections in May 2021 for the Parish Council only one of the three seats in the East Ward, which covers Calstone, Blackland and Lower Compton, was filled (Rob Hislop). A process of co-option was initiated by the council to fill the other two seats. At an extraordinary meeting of Calne Without Parish Council on 5th July Jurgen Kronig and Doug Price were selected by the councillors to be co-opted onto the council for East Ward and take up their posts with immediate effect.
