Hopefully you have all received a leaflet regarding the new Neighbourhood Plan. It is really important that as many people as possible read the plan and give feedback via the online survey. It is not just about new large housing developments on the outskirts on Calne, but sets criteria on which planning applications for house extensions, for example, will be assessed. It also designates green spaces, heritage assets, and sets rules for how the environmental impact of new developments will be limited in the future. In Calstone, for example, it is proposed to designate two green spaces (at Theobalds Green where the bench and Millennium Stone stand, and Lucas’ Field—The Jubilee Copse) and seven heritage assets (five houses (Manor Farm, Spinney Meads, Reading Room, the Rectory and Rob’s bungalow at Theobalds Green), the Millennium Stone and the reservoir).
The team needs feedback on whether you think these designations are a good or bad idea. Every piece of feedback will be reviewed, assessed, and where appropriate the draft plan will be updated to incorporate it. This is your last chance to change the plan before it goes out for referendum later in the year, where it will either be approved, or rejected, as a whole.
