The new Calne Community Neighbourhood Plan is now at the public consultation phase. This is an important document for our local communities in Calne Town and Calne Without Parish, as it helps us all develop a shared vision for the place in which we live and work, by influencing the planning priorities in the years to come. The technical description of the current consultation work is the Regulation 14 Stage. This simply means that the plan is currently in draft and that responses to this consultation stage will help shape the final plan.
An online copy of the plan, the survey and all the supporting documents are available at www.calnecommunityplan.com. Paper copies can be seen at Calne Library, Calne Town Council offices in Bank House, the Strand Calne and the mobile library that visits Derry Hill and Stockley.
In-person events are being held as follows:
Friday 23rd February 15.30 – 18.30 at Calne Library
Saturday 24th February 10.30 – 14.30 Calne Town Hall
2nd March 10.30 – 14.30 Lansdowne Hall, Perry Lane, Derry Hill
Any person or organisation may comment on the Plan, they don’t have to work or live in Calne or Calne Without Parish.
Please have a look at the material and give your feedback by 22nd March via the website mentioned above. The website also contains a phone number and postal address if you would like to give feedback that way. If you would like to know more, or have any questions, please either attend one of the sessions outlined above, use the contact details on the website or contact one of your local parish councillors (Rob Hislop, Jurgen Kronig or myself) who will be able to answer them.
A leaflet will also be put through your door in the coming days which gives a little more information
